Wentz Memorial Golf Course

Wentz Memorial Golf Course — also known as the Lake Ponca Golf Course — offers one of the most scenic rounds of golf in northern Oklahoma. The 18-hole public course winds through the natural landscape along the shores of Lake Ponca, providing picturesque views and a challenging but accessible layout for golfers of all skill levels. Named in honor of Lew Wentz, a prominent Ponca City oilman and philanthropist who contributed greatly to the community, the course reflects his legacy of investing in Ponca City's public amenities. The course features well-maintained greens and fairways, and the Lake Ponca Recreation Area surrounding it offers fishing, trails, and picnic areas — making it a full day destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The Junior Golf Program, available for ages 6–16, offers group and individual instruction during summer sessions.
